Lacrosse Rules & Field Diagram

Field Diagram

Starting positions on the lacrosse field after every goal or at the beginning of each period

Picture
Attack (in zone above "O")
Attack and middies play in the offensive zone. Any player may go behind the goal as well as shot and score.
Primarily it is the attack's job to score.
Attack are usually the craftiest players on the team, as they need to not only be able to score, but allude long pole defenders

Midfielders- X and O above
"Middies" can cross into all zones.
If a long stick defender crosses the midline, a short stick must stay back.
Remember only 6 attackers allowed on offensive side at a time.

Long Stick Defense (in zone above "O")
Long sticks patrol the defensive zone and play along side the goalie.
There job is to strip the ball from the attacking offense and clear it upfield to there own midfielders.
A middie may use a long stick, but there can only be 4 on the field at one time.
